š **Zapata Elementary Legacy Banquet at La Joya ISD!** š
Zapata Elementary recently held a special Legacy Banquet at the Tabasco Room, celebrating the dedicated staff and the rich history of our campus. The evening was filled with heartwarming memories, highlighted by a stunning Mariachi performance from Palmview High School students.
We were honored by the presence of special guests, including Superintendent Dr. Marcey Sorensen, Dr. Little, and former Zapata Elementary principals Bertha Perez and Rosa Gonzalez Vela. Past principals Eva Alaniz and Belen Martinez were also recognized for their service and leadership.
The event, hosted by our current Principal Cynthia Salinas and the Social Committee, allowed teachers to reflect on cherished memories, enjoy great food, and take photos with colleagues and friends.

During the ceremony, students Camyla Briceno, Sebastian Lumbreras, Valentina Gonzalez, Dilan Hernandez, and Daleisa Montelongo shared heartfelt words that reflected the pride, memories, and unity of our Zapata family. Zapata Elementary Presented *Finding Nemo Jr.* šš
This past weekend, the talented Theater Arts students from Zapata Elementary, under the direction of our amazing music teacher Mr. Pepito, presented their final performance of *Finding Nemo Jr.* at the Alex Saenz Performance Center, at La Joya ISD.
Friday's show was for our students, and Saturdayās performance welcomed parents, teachers, and community members for one last spectacular presentation before our school closes. The performance was truly magnificentāfull of heart, talent, and community pride.
To top it off, Mr. Pepito was surprised with a birthday cake on stage! šš¶
